Day Trip to Whidbey Island
We are incredibly fortunate to live where we do! There are so many amazing places to explore and activities to enjoy. In just a few hours, you can go from snowy mountains to sandy beaches, and the natural beauty around us never gets old.
One of our favorite destinations is now Whidbey Island. Surprisingly, it took us seven years to finally explore this gem! For our anniversary one year, Matt planned a special day trip, and I'd love to share the itinerary he put together.
We kicked off our adventure at the Mukilteo Ferry Terminal, catching the ferry to Clinton. Riding a ferry is a fun experience if you haven’t tried it before. You drive your vehicle onboard, then choose to relax inside or outside while enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery. As the ferry reaches the other side, you get back in your vehicle and drive off at your destination.
Once we arrived in Clinton, we drove to Coupeville and enjoyed a lovely breakfast at a charming restaurant called the Sunshine Drip, such delicious food, great coffee, and the cutest decor and gift items too.
Next, we hiked Ebey’s Landing Trail, while soaking up the sunshine and taking in the spectacular views. We also took a stroll along the beach, enjoying the peaceful backdrop and being enveloped by nature all around us.
Afterward, we drove to Deception Pass Bridge and explored the Lighthouse Point Trail. The combination of hiking, breathtaking scenery, and a touch of history made for an exceptional experience.
We treated ourselves to some well-earned cuisine at Prima Bistro in Langley. Then popped down to the water during low tide and walked the beach before catching the ferry back to Mukilteo and heading home.
This was the perfect day trip and an amazing way to celebrate our anniversary! A huge thank you to Matt for planning this wonderful itinerary for our day and allowing me to share it with you.
