Home Trends 2023
With every new year, we see fresh home design trends emerge. As we move into 2023 there are 3 that we are consistently seeing at the forefront and we think they are all simple trends to bring into your home if you’d like to give them a try! You can incorporate all or just your favorite and the good news is it doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive to breathe some new life into your home.
Vintage Vibes - think Grandma and Grandpa chic. We are seeing elements pulled in from their beloved home. We’ve always personally mixed and matched antiques into our home. It’s a great way to reuse what already exists by searching antique stores or thrift stores if you haven’t received any family treasures of your own. You’ll see items such as antique plates on walls or rich warn leather items, look for pieces that add character that can mix in with what you already have.
2. Pattern Mixology - think pattern on pattern with scale and textures. We like to do this with our decor throw pillows in our home. Try mixing stripes and florals or scaling a larger pattern with a smaller pattern. It is a fun way to bring some attention to a room. Don’t be afraid to try something bold and maybe unexpected. It’s an easy way to enjoy a trend without having to commit fully, like if you decided to wallpaper with a trending pattern.
3. Moody Colors - think bold, rich tones. Pantone color of the year is “Viva Magenta” which tells us a lot about where this trend is coming from. We added accent-colored chairs to our classic kitchen table for a fun pop of color. We’re seeing a lot of jewel tones being pulled into home decor. You don’t have to go big and paint the entire room a rich dark color to make a statement. Maybe you add a jewel-tone vase of flowers to your counter or coffee table as it can still pack a powerful punch.
What is truly important is that you love where you live! We hope this inspires you to create a space for yourself that brings you joy! We are constantly studying and learning not only about the market but also the latest home trends as we advise clients during the home preparation and staging process of their homes for sale or helping buyers visualize what an empty room can look like as their very own.
